Editorial Policy of Revista Direito GV

The Revista Direito GV publishes original and unpublished articles with multiple theoretical and methodological approaches, including interdisciplinary articles and texts produced from an applied research. Articles that contribute to theoretical, methodological and empirical innovation, especially in the fields of Law & Development, Law & Society and Law & Economics are especially considered. The journal seeks articles that examine the role of law, legal institutions, and national and international legal systems in social and economic development processes, particularly in developing countries, emerging markets and transition nations, and seek to determine how law can inhibit or promote desired changes.

The Revista Direito GV also publishes original reviews and translations. The reviews section aims to call readers' attention to works published in the last 24 months (from the review's date of submission). The review also must establish the relevance of the work for the field in which it is inserted and elicit critical discussions about it. Reviews should privilege titles of academic interest over professional publications. Mainly descriptive reviews that only summarize the argument of the work will not be accepted. The translations section privileges classic works or texts of difficult access to Brazilian readers. They are selected by analyzing the relevance and technical quality of the translated text.

The journal is published in digital format (ISSN 2317-6172), every four months.

Articles must follow the rules below.

Articles Assessment

All articles undergo a prior assessment (desk review) held by the Editor-in-chief, who verifies the attendance to the formal submission requirements, its adequacy to the journal’s editorial policy and its potential for publication. In this initial phase, it is also performed a similarity check through the anti-plagiarism iThenticate software. After this stage, the approved articles are sent to external anonymous reviewers for evaluation, according to the process known as double blind peer review. Comments will then be forwarded to the author for acknowledgment or incorporation of the suggested modifications. In the latter case, the modified text must be sent to the journal to be reevaluated

Exceptionally, there will be invitations for publication, which will be made exclusively by the editorial office. Reviews and translations will be evaluated and selected by the editorial office.

Articles and reviews submitted must be unpublished and cannot be under review in another journal. Authors may submit only one manuscript at a time, either as main or co-authored author, except for thematic work calls or special dossiers.

There are no fees on submission, evaluation or publication.
