Gender and Law Center

Ano de criação
2020

Created to gather studies  already being developed by professors and researchers from FGV Sao Paulo Law School, the Gender and Law Center has the general goal of building scientific knowledge on Brazilian legal issues, which show problems in the interaction between Law, institutions, public policy, and gender issues, intertwined with other social markers, such as race, class, identity and social orientation.

The Center acts mainly in two fronts. First, it encourages collective research projects on gender, whether empirical, legal-dogmatic, or theoretical. In the second front, it intends to be a space for discussion of studies on Law and gender, integrating male and female researchers, not just from the Center or FGV Sao Paulo Law School community, but also from other national and foreign institutions. The goal is to help researchers achieve excellence in their work and participate in building an integrated and collaborative academic community in the area.
