Adriana Braghetta is the founder of boutique firm Adriana Braghetta Advogados (São Paulo). At Adriana Braghetta Advogados, Ms. Braghetta practices primarily as an arbitrator. Prior to founding this firm, she was co-head of arbitration at Brazilian firm LO Baptista Advogados, where she spent 12 years as a partner. At LO Baptista, Ms. Braghetta helped Brazil’s national development bank, BNDES, defeat a US$250 million International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) claim by Ecuador's state-run electricity company. During this time, she also sat on the 22-strong special committee of judges and practitioners that made revisions to Brazil’s 1996 Arbitration Act. Until 2017, Ms. Braghetta served as vice president of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration. She continues to sit on its governing board. Ms. Braghetta is also a former chair of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee. She lectures at CEU Law School in São Paulo and speaks Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish.
