Mario Schapiro was a postdoctoral fellow at New York University (2014) and holds a PhD and a Master of Laws degree in Economic Law from the University of São Paulo’s Faculty of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the same institution. He is Full-time professor at the São Paulo Law School of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV Direito SP). Professor Schapiro was a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School in his doctoral studies; a fellow researcher of Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund while in his master’s studies; and a São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) undergraduate researcher. His scholarly work focuses on law and development, administrative law and political economy of development, with emphasis on institutional alternatives and public policy designs in the economic field. Professor Schapiro teaches administrative law and competition law in the FGV Direito SP undergraduate program, and law and development in the Masters program.
