Transnational Responses to Political Corruption
This research project will involve in-depth studies of selected cases of political corruption in Argentina and Brazil and the responses they provoked from domestic, foreign and supra-national legal institutions. The objective is to examine the relationships between foreign, supra-national and domestic legal institutions that have emerged to address a pressing social problem, and to analyze how the structure of that relationship affects institutional performance along various dimensions. We expect the results to contribute to knowledge of methods of controlling corruption, as well the broader question of how the design of transnational legal regimes affects their performance..
